SCIAF (The Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund) is Scotland's leading aid and development agency. We help some of the poorest people in Africa, Asia and Latin America to lift themselves out of poverty, regardless of religion.

Through local organisations, we help communities to grow enough food, provide for their families and rebuild their lives following war and natural disasters. We also campaign for an end to poverty and injustice so that together, we can build a world where all people can live life and live it to the full. No one should have to struggle to survive on less than 70 pence a day which is why, for over 40 years, SCIAF has been helping people to work towards a brighter future. We work in over 20 of the world's poorest countries, giving communities the tools, training and confidence they need to provide for themselves and their families without having to rely upon handouts. In communities affected by HIV and AIDS, we help care for the sick and dying, ensure people have access to the medical care they need, and support families who have lost their loved ones. In countries where there is conflict, we support efforts to build peace, give practical support to people who have been forced to flee their homes and provide those who have lost everything with a fresh start. Here in Scotland, SCIAF campaigns to address the root causes of global poverty, such as climate change, debt and unfair trade rules which condemn over a billion people - a sixth of the world's population - to live on less than 70 pence a day. We also work closely with schools and young people across Scotland to educate the ‘decision makers of the future' and give them the opportunity to help us make a difference.
